26-Car Grid Set for Historic TA2 Tag Team Enduro at Queensland Raceway

A stacked grid of 26 cars will take to Queensland Raceway for the TA2 Tag Team Enduro this weekend August 15 - 17, which will mark the highest profile event in history of the TA2 Muscle Car Series.

Championship leader Jarrod Hughes will be backed up by seven-time Bathurst 1000 winner Craig Lowndes this weekend and is determined to bounce back after a crash in last week’s Super2 Series that has left him with a shoulder injury.

18 year old Alice Buckley returns to the TA2 Muscle Car Series for her second outing in a Chevrolet Camaro, teaming up with Supercars co-driver Tim Slade. Buckley stunned the paddock on debut at the previous round dominating the Sunday with a pole position and two race wins.

Supercars team owner Tim Blanchard is set to make his TA2 debut this weekend, partnering with New Zealand driver Jon Udy and while this marks his first appearance in the TA2 Muscle Car Series, Blanchard is no stranger to these cars having previously competed at Round 3 of the Trans Am Series in Darwin.

Rookie Eric Ebert makes his series debut this weekend, teaming up with former Toyota 86 driver Luke Vanna in a Chevrolet Camaro. Ebert and Vanna are previous QLD Production Sports Champions and are looking forward to a new challenge.

2024 Supercars Champion Brodie Kostecki and Bathurst Triple Crown winner Paul Morris will drive together for the first time ever in an event, while Morris’s son and newly named PremiAir Supercars enduro Co driver Nash Morris will form part of the powerhouse TFH Racing team that includes current Trans Am series leader Todd Hazelwood, Matt Stone Racing Co-Driver and former TA2 Champion Aaron Seton.

Other two-driver combinations include Father and Son combo Graham Cheney/Tyler Cheney, Connor Roberts/Ryan Casha, Paul Hadley/Hugh McAllister, Danny Reidy/Charlie Parker, Brandon Madden/Scott Andriske, Steve Wilson/Nick Lange, Mark Crutcher/Jordan Cox and Brock Paine/Dan Jilisen.

Sons of guns Jason Bargwanna and Steven Richards have also made the journey North from their Melbourne base, Benny Bargwanna and Clay Richards combining for their first at TA2 competition.

The format will see a sprint race for each of the team drivers both Saturday and Sunday while two 45-minute enduro races will feature a compulsory driver change mid race with the team that has accumulated the most points over all 6 races declared the winner of the 2025 QLD Raceway TA2 Tag Team Enduro. Grid positions for the mini enduro races will be determined on how each driver performs in their own individual sprint races.

Round five of the TFH Hire TA2 Muscle Car Series presented by Maritimo Luxury Yachts is the headline act for the Hi-Tec Super Series and kicks off August 15-17 at Queensland Raceway. Saturday and Sunday’s action can be watched live and free to air on SBS Free to Air, SBS On Demand and simulcast to Fox Sports and Kayo Sports.

QUOTES
Matt Mackelden, TA2 Racing Australia Category Manager
“Reading through the entry list is somewhat surreal with the caliber of the drivers and co drivers competing and I couldn’t be more proud of the work the HCC team have undertaken to make this event into what is by far the most competitive and talented field ever to line up in at a TA2 event.”

“When you look at last weekends event at QR and the crowd it attracted, it’s clear that the motorsport fans of South East QLD have given QR the big tick and while we understand we won’t get that kind of a roll up, I hope we get lots of people to the track to watch the cars and the stars in a bit more of a relaxed environment this weekend.”
