James Golding and Lachlan Evennett Set for TA2 Enduro

PremiAir Racing’s James Golding has confirmed his place beside up and coming star 17 year old Lachlan Evennett for next weekend’s TA2 Tag Team Enduro, taking place at Queensland Raceway from August 15 to 17.

Racing alongside each other in the Trico Trans Am Series with Garry Rogers Motorsport, Evennett and Golding are no strangers to each other and despite considering Queensland Raceway his home track said that being an endurance event the TA2 Tag Team event would be a new challenge.

“I’m excited to be teaming up with Lachlan for the TA2 two-driver event. He’s been quick in these cars, and it’s going to be something different for me. I’m used to running on Hoosier tyres in the Trans Am car, so adapting to the Goodyear tyre will be a key focus to get the most out of the car.”

"It’s definitely an advantage already working together in the Trico Trans Am Series with GRM but he’s had more experience in the TA2 series on the Goodyears, so I’ll be looking to learn from him while also offering my support. By the time we get to the endurance race, I think we’ll both be in a strong position to be really competitive."

While Golding will get plenty of miles this weekend in his Supercar, Evennett will also be racing in the Toyota GR Cup meaning both drivers will be well prepared come first practice next week.

Evennett’s last TA2 race was at Queensland Raceway when he joined Ashley Jarvis Racing finishing eighth outright and says that teaming up with an experienced driver like Golding will be a huge advantage.

"Jimmy brings a wealth of experience in these cars and in racing overall but there are still a few unknowns with so many drivers in the field, so we’ll just do our thing and see where we’re placed come Sunday.”

“I’m really looking forward to learning a lot from Jimmy, it’s not all on one driver but I think we can push each other forward up the grid.”

The format will see a sprint race for each of the team drivers both Saturday and Sunday while two 45-minute enduro races will feature a compulsory driver change mid race with the team that has accumulated the most points over all 6 races declared the winner of the 2025 QLD Raceway TA2 Tag Team Enduro. Grid positions for the mini enduro races will be determined on how each driver performs in their own individual sprint races.

Round five of the TFH Hire TA2 Muscle Car Series presented by Maritimo Luxury Yachts is the headline act for the Hi-Tec Super Series and kicks off August 15-17 at Queensland Raceway. Saturday and Sunday’s action can be watched live and free to air on SBS Free to Air, SBS On Demand and simulcast to Fox Sports and Kayo Sports.
