Lachlan Evennett, one of Australia’s business drivers will join the Ash Jarvis Racing squad at this weekend at round 4 of the TFH TA2 Muscle Car Series presented by Maritimo adding another series to his already bulging 2025 race schedule.
Evennett, currently competing with GRM in the Trico Trans Am Series will TA2 add to his dance card that already includes GR86 Cup, Formula Australia and the breakaway Formula Ford Stars and Renegades brining the number of series to five for 2025 and said that getting as many laps in on as many tracks as possible was his priority.
“There is no doubt we’re super busy this year, but with all the series we’ve chosen to compete in are highly competitive and the strategy is to get as much experience as possible before we decide what direction to go down in the future,” he said.
“Trans Am on the weekend in Darwin was difficult with so much contact throughout the field but I’m looking forward to having my first taste of TA2 competition to see where we sit and what we can learn and apply to our Trico Trans Am Championship.”
Evennett, who had one of the most stunning debuts in Trans Am history in Tasmania at round one running as high as third outright before being involved in an awkward accident with team mate James Moffat at the start of the last race is using both TA2 and Trans Am as a stepping stone to what he hopes will be a career in full time motorsport.
“These cars are fast and move around a lot which is great because you have no option but to learn car control and tyre management or you simply won’t progress plus driving against the names like Moffat, Cox, Herne, Hazelwood, Love and others, if you have a good result you’ve really earned it.” said Evennett.
“I’ll be driving both the TA2 and the Formula Ford this weekend at the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series so that will definitely be a challenge but one I’m looking forward too.”
Evennett will join a strong entry list of 23 drivers this weekend at Queensland Raceway that includes the names such as Hughes, Buckley, Gomersall, Thomas and Masters Champion Graham Cheney in what will be the fourth round of competition held in the last 5 weeks between TA2 and Trans Am series.
